Monday March 30 at 8:02 AM
The Tram will start the day on hold.
Back to weekday lift hours today: lower mountain lifts 8:30a–4p and upper mountain lifts 9a–4p.
No new snow overnight, but the 43" in the second half of March has us knocking on the door of 400" for the season. Coverage is still in a great place, with 80 of 83 trails open. Only Everglade, Staircase, and Middle Northwest Passage are currently offline.
Today is a true taste of spring. Clouds give way to sunshine, with a high pushing 50°F at the base. Expect a firm start that softens up nicely as the day rolls along. There are some gusty winds in the mix that could pick up through the day, so keep an eye here for lift updates as we head into the 9:00 a.m. start and beyond.
Looking ahead, the pattern stays active as we turn the page to April. A colder push Monday night into Tuesday sets up another round of mixed precipitation. Tuesday is shaping up as a classic March coin flip, right on the line between snow and rain. Another system follows Wednesday with a better chance of landing on the warmer side, though nothing is locked in just yet.
Thursday trends a bit cooler again before another system lines up for next weekend. The pattern stays active, with a mix of rain, snow, or both all on the table as we move into April.
More on all of that when TK drops his latest forecast tomorrow afternoon.
For now, it’s sunshine, softening snow, and a mountain still very much in play. A great day to lean into spring skiing.
Terrain Parks Shakedown, Rusch, and Rabbit are open for park laps.
Uphill Travel will be assessed by patrol but likely open via designated routes.
The Nordic Center remains 100% open with groomed terrain through the woods.
Conditions and operations status are never set in stone. As soon as we know, so will you, so keep it locked in to the Snow Report for all the latest updates.
Why Things Change on the Fly
Click HERE for the full breakdown on why the lift spinning at breakfast might be on hold by noon. Snow shifts, wind drifts, and the Jay Cloud freelances its own schedule. We just document the magic.
STARTING April 6 & through the end of the season, lift hours will shift to:
Lower Mountain: 9:00a
Upper Mountain: 9:30a
All lifts close: 5:00p
No difference between midweek and weekend hours. Same schedule, every day.

VAST Trail Updates
March 20, 2026
The majority of the trail system is closed for the season. However, there are still trails open in the high elevations of the Northeast Kingdom, and a short run in Little River State Park and Groton State Forest. Grooming operations and access to services are limited or non existent, but there is an opportunity to get in those last rides of the season. Expect spring riding conditions which means a mixed bag of conditions and potential hazards at any time. Ride with caution and keep speeds to a minimum.
We strongly recommend following your clubs on social media to see the latest and greatest details, or review the map below to see what is still open.
Always ride cautiously, stay to the right and remember, No Ice is Safe Ice.

Monday 3/30 The Weekend Super Tour races were lots of fun and a big success. They were a great marker for the end of the 'regular season'. However today conditions remain decent on the Race Loop and Ruthie's, where coverage is best, so ski it while you can. Bare spots and thin, icy areas will continue to expand. Murphy's Field and Bailey Hazen are still holding out too, but warm temps and rain the next few days will likely close them down. It's spring skiing so be prepared for crusty mornings usually softening by mid-late morning. There will be some grooming, albeit scaled back, through the weekend. ~Updated: 03/30/26 - 11:02 am.

Dashney Nordic: Following Thursday (3/26) evening rainfall, conditions have significantly deteriorated and are no longer skiable. Trail surfaces are a mix of bare ground, ice, firm snowpack, and mud. Snowshoes or microspikes are recommended for traction. ~03/27/26 12:00 pm
