Jay Peak Resort

A Fresh Mid-March Coat

March 14, 2026

9/9 lifts will run on time this morning.

Weekend lift hours today:

Lower mountain lifts from 8am to 4:00pmSnow conditions at the Jay Peak Resort

Upper mountain lifts from 8:30am to 4:00pm

Snow showers rolled through the mountain while we were tucked away, leaving 2–3 inches of new snow across the hill, and it’s still snowing lightly this morning. Those snow showers should linger on and off through the day, thanks to a pretty steep lapse rate in the atmosphere. It’s much colder up in the clouds than it is down here, which keeps the air unstable enough to keep the flakes falling.

Temperatures in the clouds are well below zero, while down at ground level, even higher elevations should make their way into the 20s today. That setup will help keep the snow light and keep a few additional refreshes moving through.

Wind will be the variable to watch. It’s fairly manageable to start the day but is expected to pick up out of the northwest later this afternoon, which could have an impact on lift operations later on.

Looking ahead, tomorrow should be a quieter one, with mostly sunny skies and calmer conditions setting up across the mountain.

Early next week, however, the weather department may start getting creative again. We could see a little more snow late Sunday, but the pattern then shifts toward increasing wind and the potential for rain as we move into the early part of the week.

But that’s a problem for later. Swing by the Sumo Citrus tent at Alice's Patio on Tramside today for fun giveaways and the sweetest, easiest-to-peel citrus around.

For now, we’ve got fresh snow, mid-March temperatures in the 20s, and a snowy weekend underway.

Terrain Parks The Rusch, Shakedown & Rabbit will all be open today.

The Nordic Center has 10.6km of opened and partially groomed trails.

Uphill Travel is open to the summit and to the top of the Jet via designated routes.

Conditions and operations status are never set in stone. As soon as we know, so will you, so keep it locked in to the Snow Report for all the latest updates.

VAST Trail Updates

March 14, 2026

The majority of the trail system is closed for the season. However, there are still trails open in the high elevations of the Northeast Kingdom, short loops in Groton State Forest, Little River State Park, near Chittenden Dam, Shrewsbury and in the Green Mountain National Forest near Woodford and Manchester. Grooming operations are limited or non existent in most areas, but temps have dropped and there is snow in the forecast. Expect spring riding conditions with ice hard packed trails in the morning and soft trails by afternoon. You might want your scratchers early in the morning. Watch for ice on corners and hills, bare sections of trail, exposed rocks, water and other hazards, as well as changing trail conditions from one section to the next.

We strongly recommend following your clubs on social media to see the latest and greatest details, or review the map below to see what is still open.

Always ride cautiously, stay to the right and remember, No Ice is Safe Ice.

Saturday- A touch of fresh snow this morning, enough to hide ICE and DIRT! Please use caution if exploring trails not groomed today. Grooming happened on the 5k, Murphy's, Round-a-bit, Upper & Lower BH, and Ruthie's this AM. Expect bare spots and ice on all the trails besides the 5k race loop. Ruthies is the best for a longer loop for the experienced. See MAP for conditions. Best in GREEN, Caution in Yellow, and not advised in RED.
