Slope and Trail Report for Northeastern Vermont

Jay Peak Resort

Thursday April 23 at 6:22 AM

Spring Hours:
Lower Mountain – 9a to 5p
Upper Mountain – 9:30a to 5p

A cooler turn today, but the mountain’s holding strong.

Temps land in the mid 40s with a mix of sun and clouds and a steady northwest breeze. It’ll feel a bit more like early spring again, expect a firmer start before things ease up slightly through the afternoon.

Most importantly, the mountain is still fully connected. Tramside to Stateside, top to bottom, still skiing like a full experience this late in April.

Coverage is in a good place, helped along by this week’s snow and a big push from Mountain Ops to keep things stitched together where it matters most. Stay in the main lines and you’ll find plenty of solid laps.

And this all sets up the weekend.

We’re looking at sunshine and temps back into the 50s both Saturday and Sunday. Classic spring setup, cool nights, soft afternoons, and the kind of corn cycle you wait for this time of year. Bluebird skies, low winds, and a mountain that’s still very much in play

Lodging plus lift tickets for a family of four start at $288 per night. With conditions holding, both sides still connected, and a full weekend lineup, it’s a pretty solid way to close out the season. The Annual Tailgate Party is also on deck, and if you’ve been waiting for a final stretch, this is a good one.

If you’re already thinking past this weekend, 26/27 Season Passes are on sale now. Keeps you on snow this spring and sets you up for next season.

Late April at Jay. Still going.

QUICK UPDATES

Uphill Travel is being assessed by patrol but likely open to the highest operating lift via designated routes.

The Nordic Center is closed for the season.

Ski and Ride School is now closed for the season.

WORTH YOUR WHILE

Sunday, April 26th is Home Break at the Pump House Indoor Waterpark. Vermont and Quebec residents can score locals-only pricing, plus a few extras.

Ready for summer? Golf 4-Packs are here, fully transferable, no restrictions, cart included. No plan required, just a tee time. Purchase by April 30. Limited availability.

Safety Note
April/May - MELTS

As the snow melts, the mountain changes. Keep these tips in mind to stay safe and make the most of your spring laps:

Mind the conditions: Thin cover, rocks, and puddles can appear quickly as the snow recedes.

Ease off the throttle: Variable terrain means it's not the time to go full send.

Look ahead: Scan the trail for unexpected hazards or changing surfaces.

Trust the ropes: Respect closures, they’re there to protect you, others, and your gear.

Shield up: The spring sun is strong, wear sunscreen and stay hydrated.

Stay aware, stay smart, and let’s finish the season on a high note.

Dryland! Right now, dryland is less of a description and more of an aspiration for our trail system. Trails are closed, particularly the ski trails, many of which remain partially frozen and heaved up. The ones that aren't have oodles of swampy bits. We anticipate that it shouldn't be too long before opening (early to mid-May depending on weather), but not ready yet. Thanks for your patience! ~Updated: 04/22/26 - 06:28 pm
