Safety Note
April/May - MELTS
As the snow melts, the mountain changes. Keep these tips in mind to stay safe and make the most of your spring laps:
Mind the conditions: Thin cover, rocks, and puddles can appear quickly as the snow recedes.
Ease off the throttle: Variable terrain means it's not the time to go full send.
Look ahead: Scan the trail for unexpected hazards or changing surfaces.
Trust the ropes: Respect closures, they’re there to protect you, others, and your gear.
Shield up: The spring sun is strong, wear sunscreen and stay hydrated.
Stay aware, stay smart, and let’s finish the season on a high note.

VAST Trail Updates
March 25, 2026
The majority of the trail system is closed for the season. However, there are still trails open in the high elevations of the Northeast Kingdom, and a short run in Little River State Park and Groton State Forest. Grooming operations and access to services are limited or non existent, but there is an opportunity to get in those last rides of the season. Expect spring riding conditions which means a mixed bag of conditions and potential hazards at any time. Ride with caution and keep speeds to a minimum.
We strongly recommend following your clubs on social media to see the latest and greatest details, or review the map below to see what is still open.
Always ride cautiously, stay to the right and remember, No Ice is Safe Ice.

We made it through the first weekend in April with skiable snow on the 5k race loop, thanks to a bountiful snow year and lots of work. We are no longer grooming any trails or providing regular skier services this season. It's been a great winter and we hope you were able to get out and enjoy it. Thanks to all who help make this place so wonderful and we look forward to seeing you soon! ~Updated: 04/06/26 - 12:12 pm
