Slope and Trail Report for Northeastern Vermont

Jay Peak Resort

MONDAY DECEMBER 26 AT 10:24 AM

Day 28. Second Update (10:24a)

Yet another snowy day today with 5-8” up on the hill (shout-out Jay Cloud) and it's still coming down, and it's coming down hard. With all this extreme Arctic Air, it’s starting to feel like we’re inside a shaken-up snow globe with snow falling everywhere. Snow and cold temps are in the forecast all week with the mountain conditions improving on the daily. Our Mountain Ops team is working around the clock to make snow and groom it out, expanding our trail count as we get ready for New Year's Eve.

With Holiday hours this week Stateside + Tramside Carpet, Metro Quad, Taxi Quad, and Village Double at 8a. Jet Triple and Bonaventure Quad will run starting at 8:30a. Make sure to check this page for any updates.

If you're just coming for a quick Jay day, you can purchase TICKETS online for the best deal.

If being a rider on the storm isn’t your style, there is still plenty to do here at Jay Peak indoors. Check out our HOURS page for everything that’s open inside.

Big River is open daily in the Pumphouse Indoor Waterpark. Perfect for feeling like you're on a tropical vacation.

1851’ Family Arcade is right next door.

Clips + Reels Movies and indoor climbing will be open. All Lodging guests get FREE movies.

Make sure to check out Ice Haus Indoor Skating Rink during Public Skating Hours.

Terrain Updates:

Metro Lift opened last weekend connecting Tramside and Stateside via Perry Merrill Ave and Queens Highway.

Snowmaking and Grooming have wrapped up on Raccoon Run and Grammy Jay which opened Saturday.

Snowmaking will continue on Goat Run.

Events

New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and we have all kinds of fun activities happening here. Parties, Climbing, a Prince Tribute, and Fireworks are just a few. Click HERE for more details.

Free live Après music in the Bullwheel Bar every weekend from now until March. This week features Sugarleaf. See our full line-up of bands HERE.

Uphill Travel is now open to the top of the Bonaventure Quad. Enjoy it, but please leave your dogs somewhere safe and sound (like, home, for example) while you head up. Check out our Uphill Travel Policy before you go. Important piece to note in that policy, Uphill Travel is only allowed during operating hours. The last thing our grooming staff needs to worry about is seeing you through a cloud of snow, ice, trees, and such. It's their hill at night and in the early morning hours. Please be respectful and stay off it during their time.

Know Before You Go: We release an early morning Snow Report each day around 7:00a. Lift and trail counts will adjust as needed based on updates from Ski Patrol and changes in weather and conditions. Watch this space, and the timestamp, for our most current updates – which we post as quickly as possible.

Happy Monday skiers and riders, we hope that you had a fantastic Christmas whether you were on or off the slopes! Let's keep this holiday week rockin' and rollin' with top-to-bottom turns all day long. Today, base temperatures will begin at 17 degrees and make its way into the low 20's by afternoon, and the summit will start the morning at 9 degrees and top out in the mid-teens as the day progresses. There's even a good chance some snow flurries will make an appearance throughout the day.

The Mid Burke Express, Sherburne Express and Magic Carpet will have hours of 9am-4pm.  Day tickets can be purchased online in advance at skiburke.com/shop, or at the Guest Services Ticket Window located at the Sherburne Base Lodge now open 7-days a week from 8:30am-4pm.

Groomed terrain includes Upper & Big Dipper, High Meadows Pass, Binney Lane and the Learning Area. If you venture down Carriage Road today, please use caution as it is a natural snow trail and hazards do exist.

Christmas may be behind us, but holiday week is just getting started! Check out all the happenings at skiBurke.com/events including Family Trivia Night, a New Year's Eve party in the Tamarack and Yummy Holiday Specials at The View Pub!

Snowmakers have been busy taking advantage of this recent cold weather window and have been working hard stacking piles on Lower Bear Den and Upper Willoughby as we continue efforts to secure another trail off the summit. Stay tuned for updates early this week as to when we anticipate the west side trails debut.

Uphill travel is still closed at this time. Due to limited ride-able terrain and Mountain Ops working around the clock, too many hazards exist to safely earn your turns. We'll let you know as soon as we get the green light! In the meantime, get ahead of the game and sign our Uphill Waiver located on our Uphill Policy page, and keep an eye out for Uphill Armband announcements.
